Child safety standards
MovieForUs is a dating app for people aged 18 and over only. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
What is prohibited
- Any content or behaviour that depicts, praises, encourages or leads to the sexual abuse or exploitation of children
- Contacting, deceiving or enticing a child for sexual purposes (grooming)
- Anyone under 18 opening an account, or an account opened on their behalf
These rules are part of the Terms of Use, which are accepted before the app can be used.
How we prevent it
- Age limit: a date of birth is required to set up a matching profile, and a date under 18 is not accepted.
- Photo screening: every profile photo is checked automatically before anyone sees it; sexual photos are refused and deleted.
- No pictures in chat: matches can send each other text and films only, never photos, videos or files.
- Reporting: every profile and every message can be reported from inside the app with one tap, and “May be under 18” is a reason of its own. People can be blocked.
When something is reported
- Reports reach us immediately and are reviewed within 24 hours.
- For a report concerning child safety, the content is removed at once and the account is closed for good.
- Child sexual abuse material, or information that a child is in danger, is reported to the competent authorities as the law requires: law enforcement and prosecutors in Türkiye, and NCMEC (CyberTipline) internationally. Records are kept for as long as the law provides, for the authorities to request.
